UNIVERSAL DESIGN HOME BEGINS CONSTRUCTION

LEFF Construction Design Build is thrilled to announce the start of construction on the firm’s first fire rebuild project in Fountaingrove.

Breaking ground on the Skyfarm Drive property was an emotional milestone for Liz and David Berry and their two children, John, 10 years old, and Abigail, 12. The family was referred to LEFF shortly after their 2-story home was destroyed in the wildfires that leveled their entire neighborhood. But starting over has given them an opportunity to completely re-design the house to accommodate Liz, who was left wheelchair-bound after a debilitating illness over eight years ago. The LEFF design team, in collaboration with architect Marilyn Standley, have spent the past 10 months meticulously creating a fully accessible, Universal Design floorplan. Dave Berry joked to Ms. Standley: “I’m seeing people with big pieces of paper on the property right now…I think something’s happening!” The entire LEFF team shares the Berry family’s excitement as the project begins the construction phase. Watch this space, the LEFF Blog, as we document the construction of a new home for this very special family.
